I just returned from Italy after checking out a few fantastic properties, but one that really stood out was the Hotel Hassler in Rome. Located right at the top of the Spanish Steps, it's a landmark that offers the perfect balance of being in the city's heart while providing stunning panoramic views.

Getting There

If you're flying into Rome's Fiumicino Airport, the easiest way to reach the hotel is to let the Hassler team arrange a private transfer. You'll have the option of arriving in a Mercedes sedan or, if you want an even smoother experience, someone will greet you right at baggage claim and handle everything. If you're feeling adventurous, you can take the train to the city center, hop in a cab, or enjoy a short walk to the hotel.

Once you're there, getting around is easy, too. The hotel offers a complimentary electric car service to the historic center and Piazza di Spagna, which are perfect for exploring nearby sights without worrying about logistics.

Inside the Hotel

The Hassler's style perfectly combines classic Roman elegance and modern luxury. Whether in a Deluxe, Grand Deluxe, or Classic room, you'll feel surrounded by comfort and charm. I stayed in a Grand Deluxe Room; it was spacious, beautifully appointed, and had stunning city views. If you're looking for a room that feels like your own private retreat after a day of exploring, this is the one I'd recommend.

Dining

One of my favorite parts of the stay was starting each day with breakfast in the Palm Court, an elegant courtyard that later transforms into a cocktail lounge in the evening. It's a great spot to relax, whether enjoying a morning coffee or an evening aperitif.

We headed to Imàgo, the hotel's Michelin-starred restaurant on the 6th floor, for dinner. I can't say enough good things about the experience. From the beautifully crafted dishes to the views of the Roman skyline, it was one of the trip's highlights.

And take advantage of the 7th-floor terrace for a sunset cocktail!

A Hidden Gem Nearby

If you're in the mood for something a little more low-key, the hotel has a charming sister property called Il Palazzetto right next to the Spanish Steps. While we didn't get a chance to stop by this time, it's known for being a perfect spot for drinks and light bites with a view. I'm definitely planning on visiting next time!

Why the Hassler?

Between the unbeatable location, impeccable service, and mix of old-world charm and modern comfort, the Hotel Hassler is more than just a place to stay—it's an experience. You won't be disappointed if you're looking for a hotel that feels like a home base with a touch of luxury.

After checking out a few properties on this trip, I found the Hassler one of my favorites. If you're planning a trip to Rome and want a place that feels both historic and special, I highly recommend adding it to your list!
